
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 until January 19 2007) was an American film, theatre television, voice actress. Pleshette began her career in theatre. She was a part of films towards the end of the 1950s. Then, she became an important actor in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). Later, she appeared in various television productions, and was often as a guest actor. She was Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, where she received several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 of 1937. Her parents were Jewish as were the children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was stage manager at the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, and the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
