Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is the name of a Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's acting debut was as Flora McGrath. For this part, she was awarded an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of 11. The actress is second youngest winner in Oscar the history of Oscars. After an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the daughter of a muted Scottish musician who moved to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. When she was a teenager the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin had a small part in the role of Jane Eyre's title character while she was still a kid as part of Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and a lead part in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams from a television film version of Carson McCullers' novels The Member of the Wedding (1997). Paquin was a part of the supporting cast in the Queen of Spain Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). Also, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa on Almost Famous (2000).
