Bashar Barakah Jackson (July 20, 1999 until February 19, 2020) known professionally in the form of Pop Smoke, was an American singer and rapper. He was signed to Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records. Pop Smoke became famous as a Brooklyn drill artist by collaborating alongside UK producers 808Melo Axl Beats & Yoz Beatz. Welcome to the Party was the first single from his debut mixtape Meet the Woo, which was released in July of 2019 in April 2019. Two remixes were created of Welcome to the Party in August 2019 and featured American hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj as well as British Rapper Skepta. Pop Smoke debuted his first mixtape Meet the Woo in 2019. In April 2019 Pop Smoke dropped the track Welcome to the Party, the single that became his breakout track. In the month of August, 2019 two remixes of his track came out. The first remix featured Nicki Minaj while the second featured Skepta. It was noted that the song featured UK drill-produced music, and would later be seen throughout his discography. It is due to the numerous collaborations that he had with British drill maker 808Melo. Mpr Flexin is another single which is widely known. Due to the popularity in the release of Welcome to the Party he was a part of other artists for singles like War featuring Lil Tjay and 100k on an Automobile featuring Calboy. In December 2019, he teamed up on Gatti with JackBoys and Travis Scott which is the closing track of the JackBoys (2019) album by Scott and his Cactus Jack members.
